The Hong Kah North Single Member Constituency is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) in the western part of Singapore. The current MP is Amy Khor for this constituency.

History[]

Formerly a ward of Hong Kah Group Representation Constituency (GRC) throughout the ward's existence, from 1991 to 2011, it was crafted out as a SMC during the 2011 elections.

In the 2011 general election, this ward gave the People's Action Party a strong mandate of 70.6% despite the national average dropping to 60.1%. Sin Kek Tong also received the second-lowest percentage of votes from all candidates, behind another candidate Desmond Lim who took a share of 4.45% of the votes in Punggol East SMC during a three-cornered fight.

In 2020, parts of Jurong West (Bulim) were transferred to West Coast GRC, and some of the Tengah from Chua Chu Kang GRC were transferred to this constituency. This is due to the growing development of Tengah New Town and also the remaining public housing projects in Bukit Batok West.

Town Council[]

Hong Kah North SMC, along with Chua Chu Kang GRC, is managed by Chua Chu Kang Town Council.
