INTO1 (pronounced as Into One) is a multi-national Chinese boy group, formed through the 2021 reality show Produce Camp 2021 (Chuang 2021) on Tencent Video. The group consists of 11 members: Liu Yu, Santa, Rikimaru, Mika, Nine, Lin Mo, Bo Yuan, Zhang Jiayuan, Patrick, Zhou Keyu, and Liu Zhang.[1][2][3]

History[]

Debut

INTO1 was formed through the reality television show Chuang 2021 aired from February 17 to April 24, 2021. On the live broadcast of the finale, it was announced that Liu Yu placed first, followed by Santa, Rikimaru, Mika, Nine, Lin Mo, Bo Yuan, Zhang Jiayuan, Patrick, Zhou Keyu and Liu Zhang respectively.[4]

Most members are from different countries, groups and companies. The group is expected to promote for around 2 years and the management rights are handled by Wajijiwa Entertainment.[5][6]

From May to June 2021, the group started active promotion and performed stages at various music festival. On July 15, 2021, the group released its first EP, The Storm Center, with the lead single "INTO THE FIRE". The group also announced the group's two-year development plan, named "INTO1's Wonderland".

At the same time, the group will also participate in the Chinese Cultural Relics Conservation Fund as "Ambassador to protect the Great Wall".

On August 2, 2021, INTO1 had a livestream to celebrate the group's 100th anniversary.

On August 23, 2021, INTO1's official Weibo announced that member Rikimaru was temporarily suspending activities with the group and returned to Japan to receive treatment for an injury.

Prior INTO1[]

  • Liu Yu is a dancer, singer, actor and Douyin (TikTok in China) influencer.
    • He's been active on Douyin since high school and with 18 million followers on the platform, he is often considered as one of the most popular first-gen Douyiners.
    • He was the runner-up of IQIYI's Chinese culture competition show The Chinese Youth in 2018
    • He briefly attended Beijing Dance Academy, the most prestigious and selective institute of dance in China, before withdrawing due to a severe injury in 2019.
    • After finishing second in The Chinese Youth, Liu Yu made his solo debut as a singer and actor. He has released several singles and was starred in IQIYI's drama Dear Herbal Lord in 2020.
  • Santa is professional dancer and a member of Japanese-Chinese boy group WARP’s UP under Avex.
    • In 2015, he became the youngest world champion in Street Dance Kemp Europe (SDK Europe) and is considered one of world's best dancers in house dance.
    • He was a backup dancer in Taemin's Famous music video.
  • Rikimaru is a member of Japanese-Chinese male group WARP’s UP. Professional dancer and choreographer.
    • He choreographed for many SM Entertainment's artists such as BoA, Shinee, Taemin, Red Velvet and NCT 127.
    • He was a dance teacher at 1MILLION Dance Studio in Seoul, South Korea.
  • Mika is a member of Japanese-American male group INTERSECTION based in Japan.
  • Nine / Kornchid Boonsathitpakdee is a Thai actor best known for his role as Kit in 2Moons: The series (season 2), former member of Thai boys project group OXQ.
  • Lin Mo is a former member of group Yi’an Music Club.
    • He has trained and performed for 8 years, since the age of 12, and is recognized as the trainee with the biggest fanbase before coming to Chuang 2021.
    • He attends Shanghai Theatre Academy, one of the top three schools for performing arts in China, and majors in Musical Theater.
  • Bo Yuan was a contestant on survival show Youth With You. He is also a member of ZERO-G, plus leader of ZERO-G.
  • Zhang Jiayuan was a contestant on the music band show The Coming One: SUPER BAND and the main guitarist of the music band Galaxy Band.
  • Patrick / Nattawat Finkler is a German-Thai actor best known for his role as Time in The Gifted: Graduation.
  • Zhou Keyu is a member of the group BEST and an actor.
    • He is the leading actor in web drama Remembering My Boy (2021).
  • Liu Zhang was a contestant on hip hop survival show Rap for Youth under his stage name AK.
    • He is a student in New York University and majors in Mathematics. He scored 1510 out of 1600 in SAT and 110 in TOEFL.
