Janardan Sharma (Nepali: जनार्दन शर्मा 'प्रभाकर'; born 25 April 1963[citation needed]), is current Finance Minister of Nepal. He is one of the famous political figures in Nepal who led the campaign to remove 22 hours of Loadshedding in Nepal. When Nepal was facing hours of a daily power outage or load-shedding in 2016, Sharma had launched his plan to eliminate the problem from the country on the day of Laxmi Puja which further helped NCP(Unification of NCP-Maoist and NCP-UML) to win the election by almost 2/3.
He is a three time parliamentarian. He is also a member of the Standing Committee in Nepal Communist Party (NCP). He has previously served as Minister of Home Affairs, Energy, and Peace and Reconstruction [1][2] and is currently the Finance Minister of Nepal. He was a leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist-Centre) during the insurgency period and served as one of 4 deputy commanders of People's Liberation Army.[3]
