KLN College of Engineering is one of the self-financed engineering colleges in southern Tamil Nadu. It is situated on the southeastern outskirts of Madurai and built in an area of 53.8 acres (218,000 m²) with multistoreyed buildings. It is a Sourashtra minority college. It is the first self-financing co-educational Engineering College in Madurai, started in 1994. K.L.N Krishnan was the Founder of the college. This college has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

Location[]

This college is situated on the outskirts of Madurai, 11 km along Madurai-Nedungulam road, Near Pottapalayam, sivagangai. It is built in an area of 53.8 acres (218,000 m²).

Infrastructure[]

The infrastructure also consists of six double-storied laboratory buildings and three single-storied workshops and machine shops. The M.B.A. & M.C.A. departments are functioning in a separate, spacious, three-storied postgraduate block of 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m²). A men's hostel, mess block and canteen block are also inside the campus. A separate hostel for women students is provided, but it is outside the Campus. Post offices, PCO with an STD facility and medical facilities are also provided. A transport facility is available.

Campus and facilities[]

It has a 53.8 acre campus with lush green plants and trees. Transportation facilities are available to the students and faculty. There is a Health Care Centre with five beds and two ambulance on campus. A low-key canteen is also present inside the campus.

Students have to follow a uniform dress code.

Sports[]

The college has allocated 53.8 acres (218,000 m²) of land for outdoor games and an indoor stadium, with a gymnasium being planned. Out of 53.8 acres (218,000 m²), 10 acres (40,000 m²) of land have been cleaned off and leveled. A standard football field has been constructed.

Placements[]

The placement department provides job placement services, in-industry training of pre-final year and final year students of the engineering, M.B.A. and M.C.A. courses under Government organisations and corporate bodies. Personality development programmes are available for the students.
