History[]

The station signed on the air in February 1977 as KUUZ with a top 40 format. In 1987 the call letters were changed to KLCI and by 1989 the format was changed to oldies, and to adult contemporary by 1991.

In 1994 KLCI was branded as "Rock 97" playing a variety of classic and contemporary rock music. KLCI switched to playing only classics as “Classic Rock 97” by 1993.
