The Karara mine is a large iron mine located in the Mid-West region of Western Australia. Karara represents one of the largest iron ore reserves in Australia and in the world, having estimated reserves of 2 billion tonnes of ore grading 35.5% iron metal. It is one of the few magnetite producers in Western Australia. It is owned by Ansteel Group (52.16%) and (47.84%).[1]
