Lena is a town in Leake County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 148 at the 2010 census.^[3] The center of population of Mississippi is located in Lena.^[4]

Lena is located in southwestern Leake County at

32°35′22″N 89°35′41″W / 32.58944°N 89.59472°W / 32.58944; -89.59472 (32.589445, -89.594788).^[5] It is 14 miles (23 km) by road southwest of Carthage, the county seat.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.3 km²), all land.^[6]

As of the census^[8] of 2000, there were 167 people, 77 households, and 48 families residing in the town. The population density was 99.3 people per square mile (38.4/km²). There were 96 housing units at an average density of 57.1 per square mile (22.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 90.42% White, 8.98% African American, and 0.60% from two or more races.

There were 77 households, out of which 23.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% were married couples living together, 3.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.4% were non-families. 35.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 24.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.76.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 21.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 24.0% from 25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 19.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
