This page documents all tornadoes confirmed by various weather forecast offices of the National Weather Service in the United States from October to December 2021. Tornado counts are considered preliminary until final publication in the database of the National Centers for Environmental Information.[1] On average, there are 61 confirmed tornadoes in the United States in October,[2] but multiple outbreaks during the month pushed the total well above normal. November saw only 20 tornadoes, well below the average of 58. December, however, had two large record-breaking outbreaks within four days, becoming by far the most active December ever recorded with 222 tornadoes confirmed, obliterating the old record of 99 tornadoes for that month. The average for December is 24.[3]
