Wins 128 Nominations 236 show Note
^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.
South Korean girl group Girls' Generation has received various awards and nominations since their debut in 2007. They rose to fame in 2009 with their hit single, "Gee ", which later became known as "Song of the Decade".[1] Within two days, the song became number one on all music charts and broke the record for longest-running number one on Music Bank with nine consecutive wins.[2] [3] The group then released several hit singles such as "Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) " in 2009, "Oh! " in 2010, "The Boys " in 2011, "I Got a Boy " in 2013 and "Lion Heart " in 2015. The group became the first girl group to win both a Disk Daesang (2010) and a Digital Daesang (2009) at the Golden Disc Awards , and also the first girl group to win a Daesang award three times in a row.

^ The Annual Korean Entertainment Arts Awards was not held in 2009, so two shows were prepared in 2010; a January ceremony for the 2009 prize winners, and an October 23 ceremony for the 2010 prize winners.
^ Before 2009, Mnet Asian Music Awards was called the Mnet Korean Music Festival.
^ Before 2016, Style Icon Asia was called the Style Icon Awards.
^ Honors are given at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards , arranged by the Korea Creative Content Agency and hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism .[113] [114] They are awarded to those who have contributed to the arts and South Korea's pop culture.[115]
