The East Indiaman was destroyed by fire in the Bay of Biscay with the loss of 81 Lives. Of the survivors, 547 people were rescued by Cambria and fourteen by Caroline (both United Kingdom). Kent was on a voyage from London to Bengal, India.
The ship departed from Curaçao for Amsterdam, North Holland. No further trace, presumed foundered with the loss of all hands.[5]
