The ship ran aground on the Middle Ground, in the Kattegat. She was on a voyage from Memel, Prussia to Boston, Lincolnshire. Lavinia was later refloated and taken in to Copenhagen, Denmark for repairs.[8]
The ship was wrecked on Cape Blanc, French Empire between 3 and 16 July. Five of her crew were rescued by Fox (United Kingdom). Other survivors were taken prisoner by the Moors. Rose Virginie was on a voyage from Senegal to Cherbourg, Seine Maritime.[32]
