Elizabeth Aishat Anjorin, is a Nigerian female actor and movie producer[2] who features predominantly in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry. She has won the Best Actress Award at the Young Achievers Awards in 2012,[3] the City People Movie Award for Yoruba Movie Personality of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2014,[4][5][6] the City People Movie Special Recognition Award at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2017[7][8][9] and the City People Movie Award for Yoruba Movie Personality of the Year (Female) at the City People Entertainment Awards for the second time in 2017.[10][11]
Early life and education[]
Elizabeth Anjorin lived in Lagos State, in the predominantly Yoruba southwestern geographical area of Nigeria. Anjorin described in an interview with The Punch[12] that from a tender age she hawked edibles with her mother on the streets to earn a living.[13] Anjorin completed primary and secondary school education and earned her First Leaving School Certificate and the West African Senior School Certificate respectively. In 2017 she graduated with a BSc. in Transport Planning and Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University.[14]
Career[]
Elizabeth Anjorin beliefs that at the beginning of her career the fear of poverty was a strong motivating factor for her passion and drive in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry.[15][12] Anjorin has produced several movies, including the movie titled Owo Naira Bet[16][9][17][18] that solidified her notability as a movie producer as the movie received multiple positive reviews. Anjorin has produced other movies such as Olani Gbarada, Gold, Iyawo Abuke, Kofo Tinubu, and Kofo De First Lady.[19][12]
Rivalry[]
On September 21, 2019, a Punch[20] print media publication described the feud between Anjorin and Toyin Abraham as “the biggest feud in the Nigerian Yoruba movie industry”. The misunderstanding between Anjorin & Toyin Abraham required the intervention of accomplished actors and the Yoruba movie industry veterans such as Antar Laniyan, and Iya Rainbow to mediate in their dispute.[20][21][22]

Personal life[]
Anjorin is a single parent. In 2013, she converted from Christianity to Islam and adopted the name Aishat.[23]
