McPhee Gribble was a Carlton-based Australian publisher.[1] Founded in 1975 by Di Gribble and Hilary McPhee,[1] McPhee Gribble was the initial publisher of works by significant Australian writers including Tim Winton, Helen Garner, Rod Jones, Brian Matthews, Murray Bail, Kaz Cooke, Martin Flanagan, John Misto, and .[2] It entered into a "co-publishing" agreement with Penguin Australia in 1983.[3] In 1989, it was sold to and became an imprint of Penguin.[4]
