The Russian Federation Ministry of Agriculture is the cabinet-level agency responsible for support of agricultural production, soil conservation, rural development, agricultural market regulation, and financial stabilization of the farm sector.[1]

In addition to being subdivided into functional departments, the ministry supervises the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision.

The current minister is Dmitry Patrushev.

History[]

The first Imperial Russian ministry to deal with agricultural and rural issues was the Ministry of State Assets of the Russian Empire, formed in 1837. Successor ministries were:[2]
