Murad (tribe)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Murad (Arabic: مراد) are an Arab tribe of eastern Yemen.[1] Several Islamic scholars have said that the name Murad is a nickname, and that their own tribal name is Yuhabir.

The Murad belong to the southern group of the Madhhij.[2] They are described as retaining a typically Beduin character and their territory, called Bilad Murad, lies in the Southern governorate of Marib in Northern Yemen.
