Napier station in Singapore

Napier MRT station is a future underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson–East Coast line in Tanglin, Singapore, being built at the junction of Napier Road, Holland Road and Cluny Road. It will be located around Gleneagles Hospital, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Australian High Commission, British High Commission, United States Embassy, INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation and the Tanglin Gate of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.[1] It is also the nearest station to the Dempsey Hill shopping alfresco dining areas as well.

History[]

This station was first announced on 29 August 2012.[2]

On 15 August 2014, LTA announced that Napier station would be part of the proposed Thomson–East Coast MRT line (TEL). The station will be constructed as part of Phase 3, consisting of 13 stations between Mount Pleasant and Gardens by the Bay, and is expected to be completed in 2022.[3][4]

Contract T217 for the design and construction of Napier Station and associated tunnels was awarded to Sinohydro Corporation Ltd. (Singapore Branch) at a sum of S$189 million on November 2013. Construction started in 2014, with completion in 2022.[5]
