The New Zealand national futsal team, nicknamed the Futsal Whites, is the representative side for New Zealand in international futsal and is governed by New Zealand Football (NZF).[2] The nickname is a reference to the New Zealand national football team which is known as the All Whites, which in turn is based on the national team nicknames related to the All Blacks.
A 14-man Futsal Whites squad was named to compete in the 2016 OFC Futsal Championship and will be coached by Scott Gilligan. This competition also acts as the Qualifying Tournament for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Colombia. All matches will be hosted at Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji. The competition will be held between 8–13 February 2016. New Zealand will play against Vanuatu, Tahiti, Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Caledonia in a round-robin format where the team finishing 1st will be crowned Champions of the 2016 OFC Futsal Championship, as well as becoming Qualifier for Oceania Football Confederation for the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
