Nguyễn Huỳnh Kim Duyên (born 19 October 1995) is a Vietnamese model and beauty pageant titleholder who is the current Miss Supranational Vietnam 2022.^[1] She won the first runner-up title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 and later was appointed to become Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 to competed at the Miss Universe 2021 in Israel, where she finished at Top 16.^[2]

Early life and education[]

Kim Duyên was born and raised in Can Tho in a purely agricultural family. After dropping out of the Southern Can Tho University in 2016, she studied abroad in Singapore and received a diploma in Business Administration from Stamford Raffles College in 2019.^[3]

Pageantry[]

Kim Duyên's first beauty pageant was Miss Aodai Vietnam 2014 where she placed in Top 12. Two years later, she won the crown of Miss Elegance Student at Southern Can Tho University in 2016 while placing in Top 30 contestants competing in coronation night of Miss Vietnam 2016.^[4] Her return to pageantry paid off when she won the 1st runner-up title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. By placing in Top 2 with Nguyễn Trần Khánh Vân, who represented Vietnam at Miss Universe 2020, Kim Duyên became Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel.^[5] After returning from Miss Universe 2021 with the achievement of being in top 16 semifinalists, Kim Duyên got appointed to become Miss Supranational Vietnam 2022 on February 22, 2022.^[6]

Miss Universe 2021[]

The 70th Miss Universe competition was held in Eilat, Israel on December 12, 2021. The former Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza crowned her successor Harnaaz Sandhu from India after 7 months of reign due to the 69th edition being interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Kim Duyên finished at top 16 semifinalists and won the popular vote from the viewers.^[7]

Kim Duyen is a young woman with confidence, energy, and aspirations inside her heart and soul. As a strong advocate, she wants to inspire every young woman and girl to believe in their inner power and education. Since 2019, Kim Duyen has proudly co-founded the Spreading the Love foundation which aims to assist disadvantaged students to continue pursuing education dreams. She also holds various roles in the community activities in healthcare, including HIV/AIDS program and environment. In 2021, she is humbled to join the COVID-19 youth task force to support medical professionals in the fight against the pandemic in Ho Chi Minh. Kim Duyen is known as an ambassador of Vietnam Solar Energy Park in which she uses her voice to promote environmentally sustainable energy.

Miss Supranational 2022[]

Kim Duyên will represent Vietnam and join other national representatives from around the world at Miss Supranational 2022. The winner will be crowned by Chanique Rabe of Namibia in July 2022 in Poland.^[9]
