Northern and Western Regional Assembly

The Northern and Western Regional Assembly was established on 1 January 2015.[1] This followed an amendment to the Local Government Act 1991, replacing 8 Regional Authorities with 3 Regional Assemblies.

The Northern and Western Region (coded IE04) is a NUTS Level II statistical region of Ireland.[2][3] It contains two strategic planning areas, each of which is a NUTS Level III statistical region.
