Opmeer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɔpˈmeːr] (About this soundlisten); West Frisian: Opmar or Obmar) is a municipality and town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia.

The municipal council of Opmeer consists of 15 seats, which are divided as follows:

  • CDA - 5 seats
  • Gemeentebelangen Opmeer - 4 seats
  • PvdA - 3 seats
  • DSV - 2 seats
  • VVD - 1 seat

The CDA and the Gemeentebelangen Opmeer are in a coalition government.
