Rolf-Dieter Amend (21 March 1949 – 4 January 2022) was an East German slalom canoeist who competed in the 1970s. He was born in Magdeburg, Allied-occupied Germany. He won a gold in the C-2 event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Amend also won three medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with two golds (C-2 team: 1971, 1975) and a silver (C-2: 1971). Amend died on 4 January 2022, at the age of 72.[1]
