Sahebganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is an assembly constituency in Muzaffarpur district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Overview[]

As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 98 Sahebganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Sahebganj community development block; Anadpur Kharauni, Bahdinpur, Baijalpur, Chakki Suhagpur, Chandkewari, Dewariya East, Dewariya West, Dharfari, Fatehabad, Gyaspur, Jafarpur, Jaimal Dumri, Kataru, Khutahin, Mohabbatpur, Mohjamma, Neknampur, Pandeh, Usti and Jalandhar Baitha tola, Bishunpur Saraiya gram panchayats of Paroo CD Block.[1]

Sahebganj (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 16 Vaishali (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]

Election results[]

1977-2015[]

In the 2015 state assemble elections, Ram Vichar Ray of RJD defeated Raju Kumar Singh of BJP. In the 2010 and October 2005 elections, Raju Kumar Singh of JD(U) won the Sahebganj assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Ram Vichar Rai of RJD. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Raju Kumar Singh representing LJP defeated Ram Vichar Rai of RJD in February 2005. Ram Vichar Rai of RJD defeated Nagendra Prasad Singh of BPSP in 2000. Ram Vichar Rai of JD defeated Mahachandar Prasad Singh of Congress in 1995 and 1990. How ever the person who stood 3rd in 1995 was Dinesh Prasad Singh , now a prominent leader of Bihar.[2] Shiv Sharan Singh of Congress defeated Krishna Kumar Sinha of LD in 1985. Nawal Kishore Singh of Congress defeated Bhagya Narain Rai of CPI(M) in 1980. Bhagya Narain Rai of CPI(M) defeated Shiv Sharan Singh of Congress in 1977.[3][4]
