Sarkaru Vaari Paata (transl. Government's bid), also known by the initialism SVP, is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language action comedy film written and directed by Parasuram.[2] Jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus and G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, the film stars Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh. The music is scored by S. Thaman, with cinematography performed by R. Madhi and editing done by Marthand K. Venkatesh. Principal photography of the film was commenced on 25 January 2021.[3][4] The film is scheduled to be released on 12 May 2022.[5]

Development[]

In May 2, Parasura narrated a script to Mahesh Babu.[6] Parusuram later began filming for Nageshwara Rao, starring Naga Chaitanya. However, the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] The director took the opportunity to re-visit Babu's project.[8] Ram and Gopichand Achanta, agreed to fund Parasuram's project under their banner 14 Reels Plus, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers and Babu's home banner, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment.[citation needed] On 31 May 2020, on the occasion of Babu's father Krishna's birthday, the makers officially announced the project with the film being titled as Sarkaru Vaari Paata.[9][10] Parasuram stated it as a "dream come true" moment.[11] In September 2020, Parasuram and his team went to US, for a location scouting, in order to shoot the film.[12]

Cast and crew[]

S. Thaman was signed to compose the music for the film.[13] The technical team of the film consists of cinematographer P. S. Vinod,[14] editor Marthand K. Venkatesh and production designer A. S. Prakash.[15] Vinod was eventually replaced by R. Madhi as the cinematographer, as he opted out due to schedule conflicts.[3] In June 2020, Kiara Advani and Saiee Manjrekar were initially considered as the lead actress.[16][17] However, in October 2020, Keerthy Suresh was confirmed to play a lead role.[18][19] In January 2021, Vennela Kishore and Subbaraju joined the production.[3] Tamil actor Samuthirakani was signed to play a pivotal role.[20]

Filming[]

Part of the film was shot at Barcelona, Spain.

The film was formally launched on 27 November 2020 in Hyderabad.[21] It was expected to be shot primarily in the United States, Hyderabad and Dubai.[22][23] The principal photography commenced on 25 January 2021 at Dubai.[3][24] The first schedule of the filming was wrapped up by last week of February.[25][26] The second schedule of the film commenced in April 2021 in Hyderabad.[27] But later shoot was stalled after six crew members were tested positive for COVID-19.[28] The filming resumed in July 2021 in Hyderabad.[29] A schedule also took place in Goa. Samuthirakani joined the production in September 2021.[30] In October 2021, a schedule took place in Spain and was wrapped up by the first week of November.[31]

Music[]

The music is composed by S. Thaman, collaborating with Mahesh Babu for the fourth time after Aagadu, Businessman and Dookudu and with Parasuram for the third time after Anjaneyulu and Srirastu Subhamastu. The audio rights were acquired by Saregama.[32] Music production of the film's soundtrack and score began on 20 September 2021.[33][34] The first single is scheduled to be released on 14 February 2022 coinciding with Valentine's Day.[35]

In January 2021, it was announced that the film is scheduled to release in January 2022 coinciding with the Sankranti festival.[36] Later, in July 2021, the release date was announced as 13 January 2022.[37] However in November 2021, it was announced that the film was postponed to 1 April 2022 coinciding with the Ugadi festival.[38]On 31 January 2022, it was announced that the film will release on 12 May 2022 due to production delays.[5]

Home media[]

Star Maa acquired the satellite rights of the film in June 2021.[39]
