Severance is an upcoming thriller television series created by Dan Erickson. The series is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on February 18, 2022.[1]

Premise[]

Set at Lumen Industries, where a "severance" program is used to separate the non-work memories of their employees from their work memories.

Production[]

Apple TV+ gave a series order for the show in November 2019, with Ben Stiller directing.[3]

Casting[]

Adam Scott was cast in the leading role in November 2019.[3]

In January 2020, Patricia Arquette was cast to portray Scott's character's boss, with Britt Lower, Jen Tullock and Zach Cherry cast as employees of the company.[4][5][6] Tramell Tillman joined in February 2020 as another employee, and John Turturro and Christopher Walken were added as senior employees in November 2020.[7][8][9] Dichen Lachman was cast in December 2020.[10]

Filming[]

Filming for the series started in New York City under the working title of Tumwater in October 2020.[11] The series filmed for a few days in Nyack in February 2021 and in Kingston and Beacon in March 2021.[12][13] In April 2021, filming moved to New Jersey.[14][15] Filming concluded on June 23.[16]
