The Spanish algyroides (Algyroides marchi),[1] also commonly known as the Spanish keeled lizard or Valverde's lizard,[3] is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae.[1]

Etymology[]

The specific name, marchi, is in honor of Spanish businessman Juan March Ordinas.[3]

Geographic range[]

A. marchi is endemic to southeastern Spain.[1]

Habitat[]

The natural habitats of the Spanish algyroides are temperate forests, rivers, and rocky areas, at altitudes of 700–1,700 m (2,300–5,600 ft).[1]

Reproduction[]

A. marchi is oviparous.[2]

Conservation status[]

A. marchi is threatened by habitat loss.[1]
