Surigao is a former province of the Philippines.[1] Originally a Spanish-era district, became a chartered province on May 15, 1901 (Philippine Commission Act 127). The province was dissolved on 1960, comprising what are now the provinces of Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands.

6Legazpi City from 1948 to 1954 consisted of the present-day territories of Legazpi City and Daraga; this city was dissolved in 1954 into its two former constituent municipalities. Legazpi became a city on its own in 1959.
