Production[]

That '70s Show was a sitcom that aired on Fox for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006, centering around the lives of teenagers from 1976 to 1979 during the titular decade.[5] The show garnered popularity after its conclusion due to its availability on Netflix, before leaving the platform in September 2020.[5]

In October 2021, Netflix announced a spin-off of the series, titled That '90s Show, with Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp reprising their roles as Red and Kitty Forman, respectively.[6] It will be produced by The Carsey-Werner Company, with Gregg Mettler serving as showrunner and Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner, their daughter Lindsay Turner, Marcy Carsey, Tom Werner, Smith and Rupp as executive producers.[1][7]

While no other original cast members have contracted to appear on the show, some are "expected" to make guest appearances.[1] Ten episodes have been ordered, with the series taking on a multi-cam format like the original.[8]

In February 2022, Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos joined the cast in the series regulars.[3] It was also reported that Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, and Ashton Kutcher were in negotiations to appear in recurring roles;[3] it is not known if Wilmer Valderrama will also appear, though it is expected that Danny Masterson will not appear due to his ongoing legal issues. Production commenced February 6.[4]
