The Buccaneers is an upcoming period drama television series based on the novel of the same name by Edith Wharton.

Premise[]

The arrival of a group of American women into 1870s London results in a culture clash, with the two differing approaches to tradition.

It was announced in June 2022 that Apple TV+ had ordered the series, with Katherine Jakeways set to write the adaptation, and Susanna White directing. Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse and Mia Threapleton were cast as the titular Buccaneers.[1] In July, Christina Hendricks, Josh Dylan, Barney Fishwick, Guy Remmers and Matthew Broome were added to the cast.[2][3]

Production for the series began by July 2022 in Scotland, with Glasgow being used to also double as 1870s New York City.[4]
