The One Academy was founded in 1991 by Tatsun Hoi and Veronica Ho.[1]

Tatsun Hoi, Principal and Managing Director of The One Academy, is the Honorary President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia. He is also a recipient of The Outstanding Young Malaysian Award (Junior Chamber International, Malaysia) and The Young Chinese Entrepreneur Award, Hong Kong. The late Veronica Ho was a Dean's List Scholar from New York's Parsons School of Design. She served as Joint Managing Director and Dean of Studies at The One Academy from 1991 until 2009. Serving as Chairman of The One Academy is Ali Mohamed, former chairman of Leo Burnett Malaysia.

Starting from humble beginnings of a single storey shop-lot in Petaling Jaya to a three storey establishment in the heart of Bandar Sunway in 1991, the founders were dedicated to provide top-quality creative education to the younger generation. Throughout the years, The One Academy had expanded to continue pursuing this goal. Now, in an effort to continue imparting top-grade creative knowledge to the masses, the institution had upgraded to greater heights and relocated to a new campus located in a high-rise building. Located in the bustling area of Sunway, the new campus spans over 25 levels of infrastructure and is equipped with industry-standard facilities to bring teaching and learning to the next level.
