Trinity Academy Grammar, formerly known as Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge, is a coeducational secondary school in Sowerby Bridge, Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England.[1] The school specialises in maths and computing, and is attended by over 1000 students.[2]
History[]
The school is on the site of the all boys Sowerby Bridge and District Secondary School, which opened on 7 May 1910 with 80 pupils. It later became Sowerby Bridge Grammar School.[2][3]
Later on,[when?] the school became Sowerby Bridge High School. Due to low performance, in 2017 the school was placed under Trinity Multi-Academy Trust and renamed Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge.[4] As of September 2021, the school has been renamed to Trinity Academy Grammar to better reflect it's heritage as a grammar school.[5]
