Torkman Valley or (Dare-ye Torkman, Dari: دره ترکمن; Hazaragi: دره تورکمو) is a valley in Afghanistan located in Surkhi Parsa District of Parwan Province which is inhabited with Hazara people. They speak the Hazaragi dialect of Persian language.[2][3][1]
Etymology[]
The name of this valley is derived from the ethnonym Turkoman,[1] or the Turkmani, one of the tribes of the Hazara people.[4][1]
Demographics[]
The Turkman valley is generally been populated by Hazaras.[4][1]
History[]
The Turkman Valley located in Parwan Province was founded by four brothers Mansoor, Shehr, Allahdad and Khedir.[citation needed]
