The College of Engineering is an academic department at the University of Illinois Chicago offering both undergraduate and graduate programs of study.

History[]

The College of Engineering predates the current campus, having been founded in 1946 at the Navy Pier campus.[1]

The college runs undergraduate and graduate programs in six academic departments.[2] The College has 159 faculty members.

Research programs in the college have grown rapidly over the years and are conducted in 6 departments and 7 interdisciplinary centers. During FY2017, the total research expenditure for the College of Engineering was more than $27 million. The college currently has over 170 funded projects totaling $84 million.[citation needed]
