Michael Wardlow (born January 19, 1988) is an American professional wrestler who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under the mononymous ring name Wardlow. He is currently a member of The Pinnacle, led by Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

Early life[]

Michael Wardlow was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He has a background in boxing and jujutsu.[1] He stands 6'3" and weighs 270 lbs.

Professional wrestling career[]

Independent circuit (2014–2019)[]

Wardlow made his debut on March 15, 2014 for American Revolution Wrestling, where he was defeated by Nickie Valentino.[3] In the following years, Wardlow began to wrestle in other promotions, including the International Wrestling Cartel (IWC).[4] In December 2016, Wardlow won his first championship in professional wrestling, by way of defeating RJ City to capture the vacant IWC Heavyweight Championship.[5] He later won that title twice more.[6][7] He won the IWC Super Indy Championship in March 2019,[8] but lost it to Josh Alexander in August of that year.[9] Also in 2019, Wardlow won the Revenge Pro Wrestling World Title.[10]

All Elite Wrestling (2019–present)[]

At All Elite Wrestling (AEW)'s All Out pay-per-view on August 31, 2019, a video package was aired, promoting Wardlow's impending debut.[11] Wardlow made his debut for AEW on the November 13 episode of Dynamite, attacking Cody.[12] He would then align himself with Cody's rival MJF and become his bodyguard. Wardlow wrestled his AEW debut match on the February 19, 2020 episode of Dynamite, where he lost to Cody in a steel cage match.[13] At Full Gear on November 7, 2020, Wardlow and MJF became members of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle after MJF defeated Chris Jericho.[14] Wardlow then defeated Jake Hager on Night one of New Year’s Smash on the episode aired on 6th January, 2021. On the 10th March 2021 episode of Dynamite, Wardlow and MJF turned on the Inner Circle and formed a new faction consisting of Shawn Spears, Tully Blanchard and FTR (later known as The Pinnacle). The night also saw Wardlow powerbomb Chris Jericho through a table after Jericho was attacked on the rampway.[15]
