List of current champions in All Elite Wrestling

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. Title reigns are either determined by professional wrestling matches or are awarded to a wrestler as a result of the culmination of various scripted storylines. There are four singles championships, one traditional tag team championship, and one six-man (trios) tag team championships for (primarily) male wrestlers and two singles championships specifically for female wrestlers.

There are currently nine championships in All Elite Wrestling (including an interim title). As of October 8, 2022, 11 wrestlers officially hold championships- including an interim champion, and a double champion. This list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout.

Overview[]

Men[]

Singles[]

At the top of All Elite Wrestling championship hierarchy is the AEW World Championship.[1] The championship is currently held by record-setting three-time champion Jon Moxley, who defeated Bryan Danielson in a tournament final for the vacant title at Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 21, 2022 in Queens, NY.

Secondary titles for male wrestlers include the TNT Championship and the All-Atlantic Championship.[2][3] The TNT Championship is held by Wardlow, who is in his first reign. He defeated Scorpio Sky in a Street Fight on the July 6, 2022, episode of Dynamite.[4] The All-Atlantic Championship is held by Pac, who defeated Clark Connors, Miro, and Malakai Black in a fatal four-way match on June 26, 2022 at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door to become the inaugural champion.[5]

The FTW Championship is a tertiary level title that is promoted as an unsanctioned "renegade" championship,[6] and is currently held by first-time champion Hook, who defeated Ricky Starks on July 27, 2022 at Fight for the Fallen.[7]

Tag Team[]

The AEW World Tag Team Championship[8] is currently held by first-time champions The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster), who defeated Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) on September 21, 2022 at Dynamite: Grand Slam in Queens, NY.

The AEW World Trios Championship is a six-man tag team championship. The current champions are Death Triangle (Pac and The Lucha Brothers (Penta Oscuro and Rey Fénix)), who are in their first reign, both as a team and individually. They defeated Best Friends (Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, and Orange Cassidy) to win the vacant championship on September 7, 2022 during Dynamite. Previous champions The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks - Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) were stripped of the titles after being suspended due to a backstage altercation following the All Out media scrum.

Women[]

At the top of All Elite Wrestling's championship hierarchy for female wrestlers is the AEW Women's World Championship,[9][10] which is held by first-time champion Thunder Rosa, who defeated Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. in a steel cage match on March 16, 2022, on Dynamite: St. Patrick's Day Slam.[11]

Due to Rosa suffering a back injury, Toni Storm is serving as interim champion, defeating Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida in a four-way match on September 4, 2022 at All Out to win the interim title.

The secondary women's title is the AEW TBS Championship, which is held by Jade Cargill, who defeated Ruby Soho in a tournament final to become the inaugural champion on January 5, 2022, on the TBS debut of Dynamite.[12]
