Zhao Lusi (Chinese: 赵露思; born 9 November 1998), is a Chinese actress and singer. She is known for her roles in The Romance of Tiger and Rose, Oh! My Emperor, Love Better than Immortality and Dating in the Kitchen.
Career[]
Beginnings[]
Zhao entered the entertainment industry by participating in the selection for 2016's Super Girl hosted by Hunan TV.[1] The same year, she began hosting the variety program Huo Xing Qing Bao Ju.
In 2017, Zhao made her acting debut with supporting role in the web drama Cinderella Chef.[2] The same year, she played a minor role as a nurse in the film City of Rock.[3] In 2021 she featured in Alec Benjamin's music videos "Water Fountain" and "The Way You Felt"[4]
Rising popularity[]
In 2018, Zhao gained attention for her supporting role in the historical romance drama Untouchable Lovers.[5][6] The same year, she played her first leading role in the time-travel historical drama Oh! My Emperor.[7] The series gained a following online and led to increased recognition for Zhao.[8] Zhao received the Newcomer award at the Golden Bud - The Third Network Film And Television Festival.[9]
In 2019, Zhao played the female lead in the romance film Autumn Fairytale, based on the South Korean television series Autumn in My Heart.[10] The same year, she starred in music romance drama I Hear You;[11] period fantasy drama Prodigy Healer;[12] and historical romance drama Love Better Than Immortality.[13]
In 2020, Zhao starred in the xianxia romance drama Love of Thousand Years, as a princess who seek revenge for her fallen kingdom.[14] She then starred in historical romance drama The Romance of Tiger and Rose （传闻中得陈芊芊）as a scriptwriter who must survive after being trapped in her own script.[15] The series was a hit, and was praised for its interesting setup and plot.[16] The same year, she starred in the romance drama Dating in the Kitchen, portraying a quirky chef.[17]
In 2021, Zhao starred as the second female lead in the historical romance drama The Long Ballad, as a princess who is innocent and kindhearted and is determined to make use of her role after she witnesses the hardship of the citizens of her country. She is also set to star in the drama Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling.
