Following are the results of the 1977–78 season of the Detroit Pistons , the franchise of the National Basketball Association based in Detroit , Michigan . The 1977-78 NBA season was the Pistons' 30th season in the NBA and 21st season in the city of Detroit , and the last until the 2017-18 season for the team in the city of Detroit.[1] Concurrently, it would be the franchise's final season in the Cobo Arena, as they moved to the Pontiac Silverdome , home of the NFL 's Detroit Lions , the next season.
