The 2020–21 Liga IV Mureș was the 53rd season of the Liga IV Mureș, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. Originally scheduled to start in August 2020, the season was postponed due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.[1]

On 7 April 2021, the Romanian Football Federation decided to allow the County Football Associations to organize a short tournament and until 8 May, they must communicate the teams qualified for the promotion play-off to Liga III.[2]

The tournament organized by AJF Mureș started on 17 April and should concluded on 8 May 2021.[3][4][5] win the title and qualify to promotion play-off in Liga III.

Teams and competition format[]

Twelve clubs responded positively, that they can participate in this tournament and observe the new medical protocol. The 12 teams were divided into two series of six each and will compete in the five rounds for only two weeks, between April 17 and May 2, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The first two ranked in the two series will qualify for the championship play-off.[6]

  1. ^ On May 19, the Discipline and Ethics Commission of the Romanian Football Federation decided to admit the appeal of the CS Ocna Mureș and to sanction with a forfait score (3-0 in favor of the CS Ocna Mureș). CS Iernut used a player transferred outside the transfer period.[9]

Ocna Mureș remains in Liga III.[10]
