Alde Leie (Dutch: Oude Leije[1]) is a village in the municipality of Leeuwarden, province of Friesland) in the Netherlands. It had a population of around 255 in January 2017.[2] A small part of the village lays within the municipality Waadhoeke.
It is on the river Dokkumer Ee, and is therefore on the route of the Elfstedentocht. There is a windmill in the vicinity, De Balkendsterpoldermolen.
History[]
Before 2018, the village was part of the Leeuwarderadeel municipality.
