Under the leadership of Mrs R McPherson, the school's aspirational curriculum, extensive enrichment opportunities, unique partnerships and innovative resources empower students to not only achieve academic excellence, but develop the key skills, characteristics and values to progress and be ready for the modern world.

Vision and values[]

The school’s vision is to empower students to achieve academic excellence through aspiration and innovation. The school aims to achieve this by threading their core values - Ambition, Integrity, Determination and Kindness - through everything they do.

Inspirational curriculum[]

Students receive a broad and balanced education; they can study a wide range of subjects, including STEM subjects, humanities, creative arts, modern foreign languages and construction. These are taught by a team of committed staff who embrace innovation, offer challenge and support, instil a passion for learning and prepare students for the next step.

Enriching experiences[]

QES offers a myriad of enriching opportunities both within and beyond the classroom, allowing students to develop their passions, explore new possibilities and build skills, characteristics and values needed to progress and be ready for the modern world. Students can take part in a wide range of sports, arts, music and drama clubs, the Student Parliament, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, fundraising and both national and international trips.

Extensive partnerships[]

QES has developed a wide range of partnerships, networks and collaborative projects with local, national and international organisations. These include the Juventus Football Academy, Luton Music Service, Shakespeare Schools Festival as well as outreach work with local primary schools.

Future ready[]

The school’s careers programme aims to help students explore future aspirations, develop knowledge of career and education pathways, whilst also learning about the skills they will need to enter them successfully. From Year 7 onwards, they benefit from access to universities and colleges, external speakers and businesses, work experience, events and a wide range of workshops and programmes.

Innovative facilities[]

The school’s modern facilities and resources include fully equipped science laboratories, ICT suites, Art rooms, a Music block complete with Mac suites, a recording studio and individual practice rooms, theatre seating 200 people, a large sports hall, fitness suite, dance studio, playing field and Astro Turf pitch.
