Bakrie University (Indonesian: 'Universitas Bakrie' or informally U-Bakrie) is a private university in Jakarta, Indonesia, founded in 2009. It is located in Rasuna Epicentrum Jl. HR Rasuna Said Kav C-22, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

The university was established by the Yayasan Pendidikan Bakrie (Bakrie Education Foundation).[1][2] In April 2011, ground was broken for a new eco-friendly campus at Bogor Nirwana Residence.[3]

Bakrie University is supported by more than 250 companies that are members of the Bakrie Business Group and are divided into various industries, including property business, mining business, agribusiness, telecommunications, infrastructure business, and communication media. It is aiming to bring the academic world and industry closer.

Bakrie University has exchange programs with schools throughout the world, including Tohoku University, Japan, Nihon University, Japan, Universiti Utara Malaysia, and Tun Hussein Onn University of Malaysia. Bakrie University also currently offers dual bachelor's degree programs and dual master's degree program in collaboration with Central Queensland University, Australia.

In the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, Bakrie University is ranked in the range of 601-800 globally, in terms of commitment towards United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where Bakrie University ranked 201-300 for Quality Education (4th among Indonesian universities), 201-300 for No Poverty (10th among Indonesian universities), 101-200 for Climate Action (2nd among Indonesian universities), and 101-200 for Zero Hunger (5th among Indonesian universities), ranking Bakrie University as 13th overall and 2nd for private universities in Indonesia.[37][38]

International partnerships[]

Following the success of the dual degree MM-MBA partnership between Bakrie University and Central Queensland University, Australia, the two universities have joined forces again to offer new double degree undergraduate study programs in Jakarta.[39][40] Bakrie University and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) have agreed for student mobility program, joint research through cross funding program and fast track program to obtain a master's degree from UUM through a 3.5-year program at Bakrie University then continue one year at UUM.[41]
