Daejong of Goryeo (? - November 969[9]), personal name Wang Uk or sometimes spelled as Wang Wook (Korean왕욱; Hanja王旭) was a formal name bestowed to the Korean Royal Prince of Goryeo as the only son of Taejo of Goryeo and Queen Sinjeong.[10] He was the older brother of Queen Daemok and the father of Seongjong of Goryeo,[11] also the maternal grandfather of Mokjong of Goryeo and Hyeonjong of Goryeo.[12]

Wang Uk later married his half little sister, Queen Seonui (선의왕후) and had 3 sons and 3 daughters.[13] However, in November 969 (20th year reign of his 4th half older brother, Gwangjong of Goryeo), both Wang Uk and his wife were died at young age,[10] so their children whom at this time were still young, was raised by their paternal grandmother, Queen Sinjeong (신정왕후).[14]

Both of his two daughters, Queen Heonae (헌애왕후) and Queen Heonjeong (헌정왕후) become the 3rd and 4th wife of Gyeongjong of Goryeo.[15] After Gyeongjong's death, Wang Uk's second son, Wang Chi the Prince Gaeryeong (왕치 개령군) succeeded Gyeongjong in the throne as Seongjong of Goryeo, then he received his Posthumous name and Temple name. Wang Uk was also buried in Taereung Tomb along with his wife, Queen Seonui (선의왕후).[10]
