"Kiss My (Uh-Oh)" is a song recorded by English singer Anne-Marie and British girl group Little Mix, from the former's second studio album Therapy (2021). The song was released alongside the parent album, serving as the album's fourth single. It is also set to be featured on Little Mix's upcoming greatest hits album Between Us.
Composition[]
"Kiss My (Uh-Oh)" is a "playful" calypso-pop song that runs for two minutes and fifty seven seconds.[1] Robin Murray of Clash compared the song to the works of Beyoncé.[2] The song contains a sample of "Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)", a 2003 single by Lumidee.[3]
Critical reception[]
Robin Murray of Clash called the song a "blockbuster" and "a sly and subversive ode to the powers of womanhood".[2] Michael Cragg of The Guardian referred to the song's sampling of "Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)" as "a lot of fun", but felt that Anne-Marie was "completely dominated by guests Little Mix and their not inconsiderable vocals".[3]
Music video[]
The music video for the song, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, was released the same day as the single. Inspired by the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids, it features the group recreating select scenes from the film, as well as a scene with Anne-Marie and Jade Thirlwall in a club, while Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock stay in a hotel room.[4]
Commercial performance[]
Following the song's release, The track debuted at number seventeen on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Anne-Marie's tenth and Little Mix's 28th top 20 hit there, later peaking at number fourteen. In Ireland, the track debuted at number twenty on the official Irish Singles Chart.[5] In its fourth week on the chart the song reached a new peak of number fifteen.[6]
