Kitajima (北島町, Kitajima-chō) is a town located in Itano District, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. As of June 1, 2019, the town has an estimated population of 22,645 and a density of 2,591 persons per km², making it the densest town in Shikoku. Meanwhile, the total area is 8.74 km². The town was once home to a number of prominent factories, but today it is mainly a commuter town.
