April 8, 1989 | Mario Emanuele Maiolini is Ambassador of Italy (ar) In his career he was Deputy Governor of Southern Iraq during the Provisional Government of the Coalition (2003 - 2004), Ambassador of Italy in Saudi Arabia (1989-1994), in Mexico (1994-1998), Ambassador Permanent Representative of Italy to the Conference for the Disarmament of Geneva (2000 - 2003), President of the Disarmament Commission of the General Assembly of the United Nations (2002 - 2003) and Director General for the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999-2000). He served in the Italian Embassy in Washington, Syria, Lebanon and Switzerland. He is a member of the Circle of Diplomatic Studies. He graduated in International Law at the Faculty of Political Science in Rome and received a Master's in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York.
