The Roman Theatre at Caesarea Maritima was built by Herod the Great around 20 BCE. After partial reconstruction, it functions today as a modern open-air amphitheatre, hosting concerts by major Israeli and international artists such as Rita, Shlomo Artzi, Mashina, Deep Purple, Björk, and others. In recent years, the amphitheatre has become home to the annual Caesarea Jazz Festival.
