List of power stations in Rhode Island

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sources of Rhode Island utility-scale electricity generation:
full-year 2019 [1]

  Natural Gas (93.7%)
  Hydroelectric (0.1%)
  Wind (2.7%)
  Biomass (2.7%)
  Solar (0.7%)
  Petroleum (0.1%)

This is a list of electricity-generating power stations in the U.S. state of Rhode Island, sorted by type and name. In 2019, Rhode Island had a total summer capacity of 2,027 MW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 7,624 GWh.[2] The corresponding electrical energy generation mix was 93.7% natural gas, 2.7% wind, 2.7% biomass, 0.7% solar, 0.1% hydroelectric, and 0.1% petroleum. In May 2017, the first U.S. offshore wind farm began operating off Block Island.[1]
