Merinda Park railway station is located on the Cranbourne line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne North, and it opened on 24 March 1995.[2]

The station opened as part of the electrification of the line to Cranbourne.[3]

Flashing lights were provided at the former Thompsons Road level crossing, which was located nearby in the Down direction, in 1977.[4] Boom barriers were provided with the electrification of the line in 1995. The level crossing was grade separated on 25 June 2018, as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project, as well as part of a general upgrade of Thompsons Road.[5][6]

In December 2019, plans were announced by the Level Crossing Removal Project to completely rebuild the station, as part of the Cranbourne line duplication.[7] A second platform will be added, and the main entrance will be moved to a more central location. Part of the new station opened on 18 March 2021.[8] The remainder of the station is scheduled to be completed by 2023.
