Huntingdale railway station is located on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Oakleigh, and it opened on 25 June 1927 as East Oakleigh. It was renamed Huntingdale on 1 October 1954.[2]

In 1970, the signal box and interlocked gates were abolished at the station, as part of the grade separation of the North Road level crossing.[2] A temporary level crossing was provided with boom barriers, with the overpass opening in 1972.[2]

The station is frequented by students and staff commuting to the nearby Clayton campus of Monash University. An express shuttle bus (route 601) operates between Huntingdale station and the campus.

Platforms, facilities and services[]

Huntingdale has one island platform with two faces. It has a small coffee kiosk which is open in the mornings on weekdays. The station is staffed during the morning peak hour and has toilet facilities, which are only open during this time. Access to the station is via an underpass from Railway Avenue/Huntingdale Road on the northern side of the railway line, and Haughton Road on its southern side.

In early 2018, a new bus interchange was built in the existing northern car parking lot on Railway Avenue. It was opened in February 2018. The upgrade also included the paving of a new car park area on the northern side of the station, along the Huntingdale Road – North Road service loop, creating 55 new parking spaces.[3] Including the Railway Avenue and Haughton Road car parks, the station has three car parks.

It is serviced by Metro Trains' Pakenham and Cranbourne line services.[4][5]
