Peñota is a station of line 2 of Metro Bilbao. It is named after the neighbourhood of Peñota, in the municipality of Santurtzi, however all the station entrances are within the Portugalete city limits.[2] It opened on 4 July, 2009.
The Cercanías Bilbao commuter railway network (operated by Renfe) also has a Peñota station on its C1 line, but they are not at the same location – there is a distance of about 950 metres (1,040 yd) between them.
