Datuk Yusof bin Yacob is a Malaysian politician who has been the State Minister of Education and Innovation.[2] He has served as the Member of Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sindumin since May 2018.[3] He was a member of the Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN), and quit the party on 8 October 2021 to become a "government-friendly" independent.[4] He formerly had served as the Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat from 17 May 2004 to 19 December 2007.[5] Yusof is also the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Sipitang (1995-2008) in Sabah. He was a former member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) which is part of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, until he quit and joined WARISAN in 2018.[6][7]
